Think about how arbitrary your birthday is. It is set when the earth and sun happen to be in the exact same relative position they were on the day you were born. Every year on March 26th for instance, the earth is in the same place in its circular path around the sun.

You have a unique bond with your mother that you don’t have with your dad. It’s a physical connection – you were made in your mother – you came out of your mother. Go back one generation – you have four grandparents. Your mother has a special connection to her mother, which makes that grandmother uniquely connected to you.
