Saco, Maine (November 13, 2012) - Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, in cooperation with the United States Marine Corps Reserve and the Saco Bay Rotary Club, is participating in the 2012 Toys for Tots campaign.
All six Saco & Biddeford Savings’ locations have been designated drop-off points and are marked with signage and collection boxes. The bank has also made a $1000 donation to the program.
Between now and December 7, the public can drop off new, unwrapped toys or donations of money at the following bank branches:
• Saco, 252 Main Street
• Biddeford, Shops at Biddeford Crossing
• Old Orchard Beach, 2 Portland Avenue
• Scarborough, 41 Gorham Road
• South Portland, 601 Broadway (Millcreek)
• Westbrook, 2 Hannaford Drive
Toys donated at the bank’s locations in Scarborough, South Portland and Westbrook will be distributed by the Marine Corps Reserves in Cumberland County. Those collected in Biddeford, Saco and Old Orchard Beach will be distributed locally.
“Through our work with the Marine Corps Reserve, we expect to distribute toys to over 2,000 children in Northern York County alone,” says Rotarian Leo Menard of the Saco Bay Rotary Club.
To apply for the Toys for Tots program, parents of children in need should go online to www.sacome.toysfortots.org. Toys for Tots was established in 1947 and has, over its 63-year history, distributed more than 400 million toys to more than 188 million children during the holidays.
