BIDDEFORD, Maine (June 14, 2012) – For the third consecutive year, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, presented the Community Partners, Inc. (CPI) Special Olympics Team a $500 check for team uniforms. The team also raised $1,000 with a Spaghetti Dinner and Bake Sale hosted by the Biddeford Eagles Club, and donations from Target, Reilly's Bakery, Shaws, and Hannaford. Poland Spring donated 20 Cases of water. CPI employee, Alyce Bramblett, and her sister, Kathy Slowik, took advantage of a “super-couponing” day at Shaws to donate 25 boxes of pasta and 25 jars of sauce.
All proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics Team, including athlete and coach registration and lodging costs at the Summer Games, held at the University of Maine Orono Campus, June 8-10.
A 501(c) 3 non-profit, CPI has been providing direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities since 1967. Programs include independent living, employment support, community inclusion services, and senior enrichment. Individuals are supported residentially with a variety of housing options, ranging from supported independent living to licensed facilities in communities throughout York, Cumberland, Androscoggin and Kennebec Counties.
