Two Baker Newman Noyes Employees Earn ICD-10 Instructor Designation
PORTLAND, Maine (November 27, 2012) – Two employees at Baker Newman Noyes, one of the nation’s top 200 accounting and consulting firms, have recently earned the designation of American Health Information Association (AHIMA) approved instructors in the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) code set.
Janet Hodgdon, director of healthcare development, and Dianne Rodrigue, senior in healthcare consulting, successfully completed the coursework and testing to become AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM-PCS Trainers.
Hodgdon and Rodrigue join Maggie Fortin and Laurie Desjardins, senior managers in healthcare management consulting, both of whom earned the designation last year.
ICD-10 is the global standard for reporting and classifying diseases, health-related conditions, and external causes of disease and injury. ICD-10 will replace the ICD-9 code sets currently in use in the United States beginning October 1, 2014. This transition has wide reaching implications across the health care industry in the United States and will affect nearly every aspect of organizations currently operating with ICD-9.
Baker Newman Noyes’ Healthcare Consulting practice offers overall project management, as well as education and training in preparing for and transitioning to ICD-10.
